Imagine a world in which your AI platform didn't just repurpose one video; instead, it automatically analyzed your entire content library, pulled out the highest-performing clips, created variations for different channels, and scheduled them.

And it doesn't stop there! Afterward, the AI tracked results and made recommendations or adjusted its approach.

That sounds pretty sci-fi to a lot of people, but we're here to tell you that it's possible. As in, right now.

Most marketing AI acts like a digital intern: It's capable, but it needs constant instruction and oversight. You ask a tool to write you an email or a social post, and it will, and it might be pretty solid. But then you're back to square one, strategizing what to do next.

A new wave of AI is emerging — we're talking tools that don't just respond reactively. They act. These systems understand your goals, your content, and your channels, and they start making moves without you having to micromanage every step along the way.

That shift is called agentic AI, and it's going to reshape how B2B teams create, scale, and execute their marketing strategies.

In this post, we'll break down:

  • What agentic workflows can do
  • Why they’re becoming critical for modern GTM teams
  • Some IRL examples of agentic AI workflows

What does “agentic” actually mean?

The word "agentic" comes from the psychology sphere, where it refers to "the ability to take autonomous action toward a goal." In AI terms, it refers to software agents that operate independently based on context and intent.

Contrast agentic with traditional automation, and you'll see they're almost opposites. Traditional automation follows rules and templates, and it's reactive and static. You set up a workflow that tells the tool what to do, and it executes the same steps each time.

With agentic AI, the tool is more goal-oriented and dynamic. It's self-directed. Instead of following your pre-programmed sequence, it evaluates the entire situation, considers multiple options, and then takes the option most likely to achieve your desired goals.

To go back to our intern analogy, traditional AI is the intern waiting patiently for instructions. Agentic AI is your coworker who knows the plan, is three coffees deep in their day, and just starts getting it done.

At Goldcast, we see agentic AI as the next natural leap in video and content automation. It's not about doing things faster just for the sake of it; it's about getting the right strategic tasks accomplished in sustainable ways.

Why B2B marketers need the agentic shift

Let's talk about the current state of B2B marketing. Many of us are struggling to keep up with content demands, working with leaner teams than ever, and facing sky-high expectations. The typical marketing stack is a collection of disparate tools that require manual intervention to bring together in any meaningful way.

Even with the help of AI, you're still the conductor orchestrating every step. You host a webinar and upload the content to AI. Then you review each clip and apply branding. Next, you write captions for each channel, schedule the posts in a different platform, and then track performance in yet another dashboard.

The AI paradox is that most "AI-powered" tools still require a ton of manual work.

Agentic workflows are fundamentally different. Instead of managing multiple tasks, you're able to offload an entire process. You define the outcome you want and let the system figure out how to achieve it. (You'll see more on how that works shortly.)

With agentic AI, you move upstream. You're focused on strategy over execution. Instead of spending time on repetitive tasks, you're thinking about the creative and strategic work that actually drives business growth. This is especially true for the MOPS folks who spend a lot of time managing multi-tool processes!

The 4 pillars of an agentic workflow

Here are the four characteristics that all agentic AI systems have:

1. Autonomy

True agentic systems can take action and follow up, without constant input from you. Instead of waiting for you to instruct it on what's next, an agentic workflow will analyze your latest webinar, identify the best soundbites, and start creating social media clips to publish next week. The system's never really waiting around for directives; it just moves on to the next logical workflow step.

2. Goal-oriented behavior

Agentic AI isn't task-driven, it's outcome-driven. It's not just moving down a routine checklist to reach the end; it's optimizing toward real KPIs that you've asked it to accomplish. If the initial approach isn't working, the tool adjusts its strategy.

For example, if you've told your system that you want to grow your YouTube presence, agentic AI may upload your videos on schedule — but it will also be looking at performance patterns, analyzing which videos drive engagement/views/any other relevant metrics, and then prioritizing more of those types of video.

3. Contextual awareness

With most AI tools, you have to manually upload all of the context that you want it to have and get very specific with the outputs you want to receive. Agentic systems, on the other hand, pull in data from multiple sources as they're making decisions to reach the goals you've set. That data can include account intent, audience behavior, brand voice, and more, and it keeps agentic AI clued in to the bigger picture.

For example, at Goldcast, we're on the verge of releasing an Agentic Content Curator that tailors video clips to buyer stage or industry vertical. It's constantly taking in more information about the B2B landscape, your current video performance, and more, so that it can create the most high-impact content for your target audience.

4. Cross-tool execution

Finally, look for an AI system that connects to your entire marketing stack. Agentic AI will integrate with your CRM, social media platforms, events platform, and more, making it easy for it to deliver on those goals we keep talking about.

For instance, after an event concludes, an agentic AI tool might:

  1. Create three powerful video clips to post on social and write captions for the posts.
  2. Schedule the posts on LinkedIn.
  3. Upload the video clips to YouTube and write SEO copy for them.
  4. Monitor performance of all content, and tag CRM leads based on views and engagement.

The key is that the entire process flows seamlessly. There's no manual handoff between tools; agentic AI does it all for you. This is far more than automation; it's more like having a super-smart team member help you execute on all of your goals!

Checklist to validate agentic AI

Use this handy checklist to verify whether you're working with agentic AI:

  • Does the tool require minimal manual input?
  • Can it pursue outcomes (vs just completing tasks)?
  • Is it connected across multiple tools/systems?
  • Does it evolve with your data and goals?

Remember: For a tool to be agentic AI, it has to meet all of the above criteria. Test it out by giving the system a business goal and watching what happens next. A real agentic workflow will figure out the steps it needs to complete, break down silos across platforms, and improve as it goes.

“Agentic systems don’t just make work faster — they make it smarter, more scalable, and more aligned with strategy.”

How agentic workflows power the next era of SEO + LLM discovery

Search is changing. Google's AI-powered search features, ChatGPT's web access, and tools like Perplexity have completely shifted the way people find and consume content. These engines don't just return a list of results; they synthesize information and present summaries and recommendations.

In this new environment, B2B marketers have to get creative if they want to rank. AI engines prioritize helpful, structured, multimodal content. They're looking for topic authority across multiple channels; the traditional SEO-focused blog play just won't work anymore.

What does work? You guessed it: agentic AI. Agentic workflows excel under the new model because they enable the content production and optimization that AI search engines reward. Instead of creating, say, an SEO blog post a month, agentic AI maintains consistent, multi-format content production across multiple touchpoints.

With agentic AI, not only are you publishing frequently everywhere you want to be, but you're also consistent in your tone, branding, and structure. You're able to scale your content production without adding new team members. But it's not just about efficiency — it's about staying visible in a world where AI engines decide whose content gets to be seen.

Agentic AI workflows IRL

Let's talk about three real-world scenarios that showcase how agentic workflows transform your marketing work:

#1: Post-event repurposing agent

This agent won't just create one piece of content from your existing video; it'll actually develop an entire multi-channel campaign.

Inputs: Event recording + brand kit + target personas

Outputs: Video clips + LinkedIn posts + blog draft + email snippet

The post-event repurposing agent analyzes your recordings to identify the most engaging moments. Then, it creates video clips optimized for different platforms, as well as social media posts with on-brand captions. It also generates a comprehensive blog draft with key takeaways and drafts email snippets.

As time goes on, the workflow learns what type of content works best for your audience and starts to hone in on those moments in future repurposing efforts.

#2: YouTube growth agent

Need a dedicated YouTube strategist? This agent's the next best thing.

Inputs: YouTube channel + performance analytics + growth objectives

Outputs: Playlist suggestions + Shorts + new recommendations

The YouTube growth agent combs through your YouTube library to find underutilized high-performing clips and turns them into YouTube Shorts so you can maximize reach. It also suggests playlist organization based on viewer behavior, identifies the best time to post for your audience, and comes up with new content topics based on trending searches in your industry.

#3: ABM follow-up agent

Sure, hyper-personalized follow-up campaigns are the gold standard, but it's hard to make them happen each and every time. Enter: the ABM follow-up agent.

Inputs: Account engagement data + prospect history + sales priorities

Outputs: Personalized follow-up across formats

Don't let all that valuable engagement data go to waste any longer. If someone from a target account watches a specific webinar session about tracking ROI, the ABM follow-up agent creates a video clip talking about that exact topic, writes a personalized email to the lead, and sends it out right away!
